DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 450MT is the small adventure bike that made CFMOTO credible in Europe, and it is ridden the way its name suggests: gravel, forest track, the long way round. The Akrapovic slip-on for it is built for that duty rather than for a boulevard, down to a profiled titanium surface that adds stiffness where a dropped bike takes the hit.
Key Features
- 2.51 kg against the standard 3.75 kg: 1.24 kg and 33.1 per cent less, taken off the high outside of a bike that gets picked up by hand
- Profiled titanium outer sleeve — the surface pattern is structural, giving the sleeve more resistance to denting than a smooth wall of the same thickness
- Carbon fibre end cap and carbon fibre heat shield included, not optional
- 1.0 PS at 8,100 rpm and 1.5 Nm at 4,400 rpm, the torque arriving low enough to matter on a loose surface
- Fits the CFMOTO 450MT and the 450 IBEX, the same machine under its other market name
- Certified to EC and ECE type approval under Euro 5+
- Noise insert included, installation about 30 minutes
Built for Loose Surfaces
The 1.5 Nm gain sits at 4,400 rpm. On a 449 cc parallel twin that is exactly where an adventure rider spends time on a climb or in deep gravel — well below the power peak, in the range where throttle response decides whether the front wheel goes where you pointed it.
The profiled surface is the second decision that comes from off-road use. A smooth titanium sleeve looks cleaner; a profiled one survives a low-speed fall better, because the pattern works like corrugation and resists the crease that a flat panel takes. Akrapovic uses the same reasoning on its rally-raid parts.
Weight in the Wrong Place
1.24 kg is not much on paper. On a 175 kg adventure bike it is the difference in effort when the machine is on its side and has to come back up, because that mass sits at the highest and furthest point from the centre — the worst possible position, and the one the standard silencer occupies.
Why the Heat Shield Is Included
Titanium runs hotter on the outside than the double-skinned steel it replaces, and on an adventure bike the silencer sits where a soft bag, a strapped-down jacket or the inside of a boot ends up. The carbon fibre heat shield is in the box for that reason rather than for looks, and it is one of the few slip-ons in this price class where it is not sold separately.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-CF4SO2-HFTT covers the CFMOTO 450MT from model year 2024 through 2026, and the CFMOTO 450 IBEX, which is the same motorcycle sold under a different name in other markets. The carbon fibre heat shield is part of the kit.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval to Euro 5+, certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
