DescriptionThe whole story▼
The cross test is where enduro borrows from motocross. Marked out on a grass field or an existing track, it rewards hard, late braking into tight corners and a quick drive out, lap after lap against the clock. On the Beta RR 350 four-stroke, a mid-capacity enduro, the front brake lever is squeezed harder and more often here than on almost any other test of the day. For those laps on the 2011 to 2022 bikes, Accossato's B8206 replaces the original lever: a three-finger design, CNC-machined from Ergal 7075, with a blade hinged so that it can fold forward in a crash.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Beta RR 350 four-stroke, 2011 to 2022
- Mounts on the original front brake master cylinder
- Hinged blade can fold forward instead of breaking when the bike goes down
- Short brake blade sized for three fingers
- Machined from solid Ergal 7075 by Accossato in Italy
- Available with a black, blue, gold or red blade on a dark base
- No German ABE; for off-road riding and racing
Construction and Material Quality
Two Italian companies meet on this handlebar. Beta builds its bikes in Tuscany, while Accossato, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin as a maker of competition motorcycles, machines the B8206 on CNC equipment from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, aiming for a lever that is strong, light and reliable. It consists of two parts: a dark base that sits on the pivot of the master cylinder and a coloured blade connected to it by a folding joint. The blade has the brake-side length Accossato gives its off-road levers, enough for three fingers.
Hard on the Brakes in the Cross Test
By enduro standards the braking on a cross test is violent. You arrive at a hairpin fast, sit forward, squeeze the front hard enough to compress the fork, then let go as the bike tips in. On the RR 350 four-stroke the engine braking lends a hand, but the front lever still does most of the stopping, and after a few laps the fingers know exactly where it sits and how hard it can be pulled.
It is also where many crashes happen. Grass polished by a hundred tyres, a braking rut that tugs the front wheel sideways, a corner entered slightly too fast: the front tucks and the bike goes down on its right. With the Beta sliding across the ground, the brake lever is the most exposed part on that side. The B8206's joint allows the blade to fold forward under that force, so there is a decent chance it is still whole when you pick the Beta RR 350 four-stroke up and rejoin. No lever can promise that every time, but on a timed test, riding on with a working front brake is worth a great deal.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the Beta RR 350 four-stroke from 2011 to 2022 as the application for this brake lever, a run of twelve model years. Its folding partner for the clutch side is the C7283, listed over the same period. The brake lever is offered in black, blue, gold and red; the clutch lever swaps gold for orange, which leaves three colours in which both sides can match.
Road Approval
The B8206 has no German ABE. If your RR 350 four-stroke is registered, it is not approved for public roads with this lever fitted; use it off-road and in competition.
