DescriptionThe whole story▼
Consistency matters more than power when the tyre sets the limit, as it does on the Yamaha WR 125R. The N007 is ZCOO's shape for the Nissin caliper of the Yamaha WR 125R, 101.5 mm long and 8.0 mm thick. The compound is EX Race, which on the Yamaha WR 125R builds force with the lever instead of ahead of it.
Key Features
- ZCOO specifies this reference for the Yamaha WR 125R directly, not by cross-reference from a similar machine
- Consistent friction from the first lap to the wear limit, so the braking marker set on a cold WR 125R still means the same thing when it is hot
- The ceramic layer is sintered to the plate rather than pressed against it, which is what keeps the N007 together at the top of its temperature range
- The friction material and the N007 plate are made in the same Japanese plant
- Wear indicator geometry unchanged from the standard Nissin pad, so the usual inspection still applies on the WR 125R
- The N007 is one of 16 shapes ZCOO builds; this is the one your Nissin caliper takes
Construction and Material Quality
ZCOO builds the N007 the same way whether it ends up on a WR 125R or on a race bike. Bonding, not gluing: the ceramic layer of the N007 is fused to the plate under pressure. The result on the Yamaha WR 125R is a pad that wears evenly rather than tapering from one edge.
Performance and Feel
EX Race is the control-oriented of ZCOO's two ceramic compounds, and on the Yamaha WR 125R that is the point. It works from cold without a warm-up lap and does not turn grabby once the N007 is hot. On a WR 125R with one front disc, everything depends on the pad holding its level.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Yamaha WR 125R, 2009 to 2016, on the Nissin fitment. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 101.5 mm length and 39.0 mm height. The N007 is a front pad only. The same N007 shape covers 70 further machines in the 2026 catalogue.
Road Approval
No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
