DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES KIT07 is the full PAIR removal package for the R6: cover, gasket and solenoid eliminator.
Key Features
- Yamaha R6 (2006–2022)
- Complete PAIR removal kit: cover, gasket and solenoid eliminator
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- Fully reversible to standard
Everything in One Box
The plate for the head, the gasket that seals it and the electrical eliminator. Buying the three separately is possible and this removes the risk of forgetting one.
Why Both Halves
A blanked port with a connected solenoid stores a fault. A disconnected solenoid with open ports still lets air through. They only make sense as a pair.
The Overrun
Popping on a shut throttle is fresh air meeting unburnt fuel in a hot header. It is the emissions system working, not the exhaust failing.
Before the Dyno
Injected oxygen corrupts the lambda reading. No R6 should be mapped with the secondary air system still connected and most tuners will refuse.
Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Revs
The redline on a 599 cc four. Everything fitted to this engine lives near the limiter and has to be specified accordingly.
Seventeen Model Years
The fitment runs from 2006 to 2022, covering the whole of the R6's later life. Yamaha left the emissions architecture unchanged across it.
Emissions Approval
Removal takes the bike outside its type approval, which on a motorcycle Yamaha now sells only for circuits is largely academic and still worth stating.
A Proper Gasket
Supplied rather than assumed. Beside an exhaust port there is no other sealing method that survives a season.
Nothing Permanent
All three original parts refit. The head is never modified and the loom is never cut.
Still the Benchmark
Two decades after launch the R6 is what every other supersport machine is measured against, and Yamaha never had to redesign it to keep that position. The engine simply did what nothing else in the class could do and kept doing it.
