DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES KIT17 deletes the Tiger 800's whole secondary air arrangement, connector and cylinder head cover together.
Key Features
- Triumph Tiger 800 (2015–2019)
- Both halves of the secondary air deletion
- Solenoid eliminator and cylinder head cover
- One part number, one fitting session
- No drilling and no splicing
- Every standard part refits afterwards
Sold in Numbers
The Tiger 800 was Triumph's best-selling adventure bike for years, so used examples are plentiful and the aftermarket is deep.
Replaced by the 900
Triumph moved to a T-plane crank and a larger capacity in 2020. The 800 remains a considerable bargain as a result.
Reversible Both Ways
Keep the housing and the plug and the motorcycle returns to standard in the same two hours it took to convert.
Keep Everything
The standard housing and the original connector both refit, and both are worth having if the motorcycle is ever sold or inspected.
On a New Motorcycle
Removing emissions equipment gives a dealer grounds to decline a related warranty claim, which is worth weighing before ordering anything.
Everything Goes Back
Housing, hose, clips and connector all refit with nothing consumed, which means an emissions inspection or a sale can be answered with the standard arrangement in place.
Before the New Exhaust
Most owners fit a silencer at the same time, and doing the deletion first means the new system never gets blamed for a crackle it did not cause. It also means only one round of bodywork removal.
What Finishing It Actually Means
No open port in the cylinder head, no perishable reed pack on a hot casting, no hose above the engine and no fault code on the dashboard. Anything less than all four leaves something behind.
Recorded in the Book
One line noting what was removed and when. It saves the next person diagnosing a system that is no longer present.
Chain Rather Than Shaft
Unlike the larger Tigers, the 800 uses a chain, which saves weight and money at the cost of maintenance. On a middleweight ridden off tarmac it is the right compromise and almost nobody has argued otherwise.
