DescriptionThe whole story▼
A tidy garage is worth lap time. Riders who label their spares, write down what they changed and keep a fresh set of pads on the shelf tend to have fewer ruined weekends than riders who do not. For the Ducati Monster 1200 R of 2016 to 2019 Accossato lists the AGPA106 at the front and offers it in the ZXC ceramic racing material as article AGPA106ZXC, described by the company as a ceramic compound intended for competition.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Ducati Monster 1200 R, 2016 to 2019
- AGPA106ZXC: the AGPA106 plate with the ZXC ceramic racing material
- A ceramic mixture, placed by Accossato among its racing articles
- Bought as event stock rather than as a road replacement
- Two front calipers, so two boxes for the wheel
- Two pads to the box
- The same plate is also pressed in ST, EV1 and EV2
- No German ABE on file; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's account of this compound amounts to two words, ceramic and racing, and repeating them accurately is more useful than inventing a third. Where the article does offer certainty is in its carrier. The AGPA106 plate is the same piece under all four materials, made and fitted the same way, so a rider who keeps several compounds on a shelf is keeping one shape and several surfaces. The company has been in the brake business since 1969, and the pad programme is one part of a wider catalogue.
A Tidy Garage Between Outings
Most of what goes wrong at a race weekend was arranged on a Wednesday evening. Pads bought the night before, a disc nobody looked at, a fluid change put off since last season. None of it announces itself until the machine is out on circuit with a rider who has other things to think about. Half an hour with the Monster 1200 R on a stand deals with nearly all of it.
A workable routine looks like this. Take the wheel out and look at both sets of pads against the light instead of squinting past a caliper. Run a clean hand over the disc surface feeling for ridges. Check the fluid and note the date somewhere you will find it again. Put the spare set where it can be reached without emptying the van. And when the weekend is over, do the same inspection before anything goes into storage, because a problem found on Sunday evening can be solved by Friday, while a problem found on Friday cannot.
Fitment and Compatibility
This AGPA106 entry belongs to the Ducati Monster 1200 R built between 2016 and 2019. Two calipers grip the front wheel, one box to each. Rear pads for the machine are the AGPA42 across the same four seasons, and the Accossato disc range lists the DK053 and the DKS053 for it. The AGPA106 plate also appears under other bikes, so the article number stays the reliable identifier when an order goes in.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the AGPA106ZXC in our documentation and no inspection report, which is why the pads are listed for competition and for closed circuits.
Scope of Delivery
One box holding two AGPA106 pads in the ZXC material, the set for one front caliper on the Monster 1200 R.
