DescriptionThe whole story▼
Small sports bikes are great fun on twisty roads and at track days, where riders learn to carry speed and brake late. Accossato front pad AGPA243 in the EV1 street/track compound is made for this kind of Yamaha R3 rider. Accossato lists AGPA243 for the R3 from 2015 to 2026. EV1 gives a firmer, more direct response than the everyday compounds, while still working for the ride to and from the circuit.
Key Features
- AGPA243 front pad in EV1 street/track compound
- Listed for the Yamaha R3, 2015-2026
- Accossato: excellent grip for street riding and amateur track use
- Firmer bite for late braking on a light bike
- A good match for track-day sessions
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Other versions: OR, ST, ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV1 as a compound with excellent grip on the road and for amateur track riding. It is the middle ground between road compounds and the ZXC race mix. Accossato's general claims for its range, including long life, reduced fading thanks to controlled temperature and strong braking, are reported as its own words.
Track Days on a Light Bike
On a light machine like the R3, riders carry corner speed and brake later than they would on a heavier bike. At a track day, that means repeated hard stops into slow corners, lap after lap. EV1 is intended to keep a firm response through those sessions and still behave on the road home. On the road it rewards smooth, progressive lever input. ZXC is the choice if the R3 becomes a dedicated race bike.
Track-Day Checklist
Before the day, fit and bed in the pads on the road, check brake fluid level and colour, and make sure the lever is firm. At the circuit, check pad thickness at lunch and look at the disc for any unusual marks.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA243 for the YZF 321 R3 from 2015 to 2026. One box covers the R3's single front caliper. Accossato's rear pad for this model is AGPP254. Keep the discs free of grease and replace fluid regularly if you ride on track.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or test certificate for AGPA243EV1 in our records. It is offered for competition and closed-circuit use.
