DescriptionThe whole story▼

For 2023 the Diavel changed its engine: the twin made way for a V4, a change that altered the whole character of Ducati's power cruiser. For many owners, much of a Diavel V4's everyday life happens in town, where the brake lever is used far more often than on an open road, to creep forward in traffic, hold the bike at a red light and stop again a few metres later. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the 2023 to 2026 Diavel V4, with an adjustable reach for those many small applications.

Key Features

  • Replaces the front brake lever of the Diavel V4, 2023 to 2026
  • Mounts on the factory master cylinder
  • Reach adjustable at the pivot end of the lever
  • Blade lengths short, standard (approximately 138 mm) and long
  • Seven blade colours, black hub on every version
  • Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
  • Fixed design without a hinge
  • No German ABE is documented; sold for the track

Construction and Material Quality

The EDF099 is milled from solid aluminium and anodised, which gives it a surface that is harder than bare aluminium and resists corrosion well. If your Diavel V4 is ridden in town through the year, that matters more than it might seem, because road grime and cleaning products reach the levers every week. Mild soapy water is all the anodised finish needs, while strongly alkaline cleaners can dull the colour over time and are better kept away from it. The hub is black, the blade takes the colour you choose, and the lever is rigid, with no hinge to wear.

Stop, Creep, Hold

City riding on the Diavel V4 is a sequence of small brake applications. Rolling up to a queue, you trim the speed with a light touch; at the lights you keep the bike still with the front brake while your feet find the ground; then you release and move off again. None of this needs much force, but all of it needs a lever that is exactly where the fingers expect it. The adjuster near the pivot lets you bring the blade in so that two fingers can hold it lightly for long stretches without the hand tiring.

In this kind of use the short and standard blades are the practical choices, because they leave the ring and little finger on the throttle grip while you edge forward. The short version comes in blue, gold, green, orange and silver.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Diavel V4 from 2023 to 2026, under the version name Diavel 1158 V4. The list also includes the Diavel V4 RS for the 2026 model year. The earlier twin-cylinder Diavels, the 1200 and the 1260, have separate product pages in our shop.

Road Approval

Without a documented German ABE, the lever is offered for racetrack use.
