Anything fitted to a motorcycle that is still young deserves a plainer question than usual: what does it actually change? For the Sprint Filter CM251S on a 525 cm³ Voge Valico DSX of 2023 to 2026, the answer is short. It occupies the space the paper panel occupied, in the airbox as Voge assembled it. Nothing is cut away, nothing is relocated, the lid closes on its original seal and the fuelling is left exactly as delivered. This is a service part in the shape of a service part.

A replacement, not a conversion

The distinction matters most on a recent machine. Intake work that removes the airbox, opens the snorkel or hangs a cone on the throttle body changes what the engine was calibrated around, and it tends to arrive with a remap and a list of things to explain later. None of that applies here. The housing keeps its inlet, its volume and its lid; only the filtering material inside it is different. That also settles the power question honestly: a drop-in element does not make a standard Valico DSX noticeably stronger, and it was never going to. Anyone selling one on that basis is describing something else.

What four model years look like

Over the run from 2023 to 2026 the paper alternative would be bought and thrown away several times, always at the same cost, always at the mercy of stock. The CM251S is bought once and serviced with an air line, which means the intake gets opened when you want to look at it rather than when a delivery arrives. Sprint Filter designs the element to last as long as the motorcycle does; the two-year warranty runs from the date you buy it. Those are two different statements, and it is worth keeping them apart.

Care and cleaning

Lift the CM251S out, direct compressed air at the clean face so the dirt is pushed back out the way it came, and check it against a light. A wash is only needed when air leaves something behind: lukewarm water, a mild detergent, a rinse until the water runs clear, then unhurried drying in open air.
