The Milano is a motorcycle bought with the eyes, which is not a criticism — it was meant to be looked at, and it succeeds. It does describe how most of them are used, though. They come out on good days, cover a few hundred kilometres between March and October, and spend the balance of the year under a cover. Practically every assumption inside a service schedule is an assumption about mileage, and on a bike like this almost none of those assumptions apply.

What happens to a filter that is not being used
A paper cartridge sitting in an airbox through a European winter is not being worn out by dust — it is taking up moisture from the air surrounding it, swelling a little at the folds, drying imperfectly and repeating the cycle next month. Cellulose does not recover its original form from that, so by spring the element is measurably more restrictive than it was in October despite having filtered next to nothing. The odometer records none of it, which is why lightly used motorcycles so often turn out to have filters in worse condition than their owners would ever guess.
A medium that is indifferent to waiting
Woven polyester has no comparable failure mode. It picks up surface moisture and releases it again without swelling, so a season of standing costs it nothing structurally and its aperture in April is the aperture it had the previous autumn. That changes what the spring service consists of. Instead of replacing a panel on the calendar, because nobody can tell whether it is still good, you lift the seat, open the lid, look at the CM170S, blow it through if it needs it, and close everything up again. Over the long, low-mileage life these machines generally have, that is the difference None of it is a power claim; a panel sealed inside a factory case has no mechanism for making one.
Care and cleaning
Air onto the clean face, worked outwards, is nearly always sufficient on a bike used this lightly. When something more is called for, wash it in hand-warm water with a mild detergent and keep rinsing until the water no longer picks up colour. Dry it completely in still room air before it goes anywhere near the bike, and never use heat or an open flame to speed that up. It is refitted dry and left untreated.
