Reusable and repairable are different properties, and this element is only the first. There is nothing on a PM200S to service: no layers to re-stack, no oil to renew, no gasket to change, no cartridge to swap. That sounds like a limitation and is in fact the whole design. The part is built so that cleaning it returns it to as-new condition, which means it never needs repairing and never needs a kit sold alongside it.

The consumables that never appear
An oiled cotton filter comes with an economy attached: cleaner, oil, sometimes an applicator, and a re-oiling step that has to be judged rather than followed. A paper panel comes with a simpler one — you buy another. The dry weave has neither. Across a decade of Vitpilen ownership the induction side of the parts list stays empty, and the only recurring input is compressed air, which most people can find at a fuel station for nothing.
What long ownership looks like
The 401 is a bike people keep. Its element will spend years being taken out, blown through and put back, and it is specified to survive exactly that: polyester holds its shape through repeated handling and the sealing edge stays true. If something ever does go wrong with the part itself, two years of warranty cover it; after that the honest position is that there is nothing left to fail short of physical damage. None of this makes the motorcycle faster. It makes the intake something you stop having to buy.
Care and cleaning
The full routine: lid off, panel out, compressed air across the clean face so the load leaves the way it came, panel back, lid on. Water is only for the state where air has stopped working — warm, mildly soapy, rinsed out completely, then dried in still air over a day if that is what it takes. Heat of any kind is what kills these elements, so keep it away from radiators and flames. The illustrated sheet lives in this page's Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
For the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 of 2018 to 2023. This panel is cut for the standard airbox of the platform, which runs across fourteen Husqvarna and KTM machines in total — the Fitment tab lists them all with their build years.
