DescriptionThe whole story▼
The exhaust protector shields a rider's leg and a passenger's from the silencer. On a Monster with an upright riding position and a pillion who sits close behind, that is not a theoretical concern.
Key Features
- Exhaust heat protector, direct replacement for the original part
- 200 Plain or 245 Twill weave, clear coat, matt, satin or raw
- Autoclave-cured laminate, stable at silencer temperatures
- Original clamps and mounting points
- A separate outer cover is listed for the same years
Two Parts, Two Jobs
Fullsix lists a protector and a cover for this position. The protector is the piece that stands off the silencer and does the shielding; the cover is the visible panel that sits over it.
Which one you need depends on what is on the bike and what has been damaged. If you are unsure, send us a photograph of the exhaust area and we will tell you which is which before you order.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Monster 1200, model years 2014 to 2020, on the original silencer. An aftermarket exhaust almost always changes this area — check with the exhaust maker what heat shielding their system expects.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Heat shielding around an exhaust is a construction requirement in several markets — confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Leave the Air Gap
A heat shield works by standing away from the hot surface, not by insulating against it. The gap between the shield and the silencer is what does the job, and closing it makes the part worse than useless.
Fit it with the original standoffs and clamps. If a spacer is missing, replace it rather than bolting the shield down flat — cured carbon in direct contact with a silencer will discolour and eventually delaminate.
