The GSX-8S is a recent motorcycle and this is one of very few Akrapovic accessories for it. That has a consequence worth stating: the Racing Line the bracket is named for, S-S8R1-EEC, does not appear in the price list this shop buys from, which carries a different Racing Line for the same machine.

Confirm Before Ordering
Akrapovic writes its accessory descriptions against its full catalogue, and part numbers move on. The bracket may well suit the current Racing Line for this motorcycle; nobody should assume it without asking.
A single question to the distributor, quoting the silencer's part number and this bracket's, settles it. That is a better use of five minutes than a return.
The Problem It Solves
Suzuki hangs the GSX-8S silencer from the passenger footpeg mount, the way most manufacturers do. Take the pegs off for track use — as club regulations require — and the exhaust loses its rear support.
This bracket replaces that support with a part that carries only the silencer. It is the same problem Akrapovic solves on the R7, the ZX-10R and several others, and the same answer.
A New Middleweight
Suzuki launched the GSX-8S in 2022 around a new 776 cc parallel twin, and it has become a common choice for riders wanting a naked bike without litre-class running costs. The aftermarket is still filling in around it, which is why the accessory list is short.
Machined From Solid
A bracket carrying a silencer takes its load at one end and reacts it at the other, which is a demanding shape to cast well. Machining it from billet costs more per part and produces a piece whose grain runs the way the load does, with no porosity to find out about later.

Machined aluminium rather than carbon. On a bracket that will be inspected after a fall and possibly replaced more than once, metal is the practical material — it deforms visibly rather than failing invisibly, and it costs less to keep a spare.
No Published Weight
Akrapovic gives no figure for this bracket and none is estimated here. For comparison the company quotes 140 grams for the equivalent R7 part against a 670 gram standard mount — a different motorcycle, offered only as a sense of the scale involved.
Optional, Not Standard
A GSX-8S with its pillion pegs fitted does not need this bracket. The exhaust mounts to the factory hanger. This is a part for one specific configuration and it should be bought only when that configuration applies.
