DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Monster 795 is one of the less familiar members of Ducati's naked family. Developed for Asian markets, it combined the air-cooled two-valve twin with the trellis frame and round headlight of the classic Monster, and it is rarely seen in Europe. Owners of rare variants know that finding parts often means working from specifications rather than model names. For the Monster 795 of 2014 and 2015, Accossato lists the FP004, an oil filler cap machined from aluminium and anodised in eight colours, and it states the one figure that matters here: the M20x2.5 thread.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Ducati Monster 795, 2014 and 2015
- Listed for the Corse Stripe and Red Stripe versions with ABS
- M20x2.5 thread, as Accossato specifies
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Eight colours: black, silver, titanium, red, gold, blue, green, orange
- Adaptable to other motorcycles with the same cap size, after checking
- TS012 rear reservoir cap listed for the same bike
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Black, silver, titanium, red, gold, blue, green or orange: the FP004 is milled from aluminium and anodised in one of these eight. Its thread is M20x2.5. Accossato describes the cap as fitting its listed applications and as adaptable to other motorcycles with the same cap size, which is useful information for the owner of a rare model: the thread, not the name on the tank, decides whether a cap will go in.
Parts for a Rare Monster
Owning a Monster 795 outside its home markets can mean detective work whenever something needs replacing. Not every workshop or parts catalogue in Europe knows this variant, and questions about fit are common. For an oil filler cap, the thread settles them. If the original cap is still in the engine, take it out on a cold engine, clean it and compare it with the M20x2.5 specification before ordering. While it is out, look at the thread in the engine and at the sealing face around the opening; both should be clean and undamaged, and nothing should be allowed to fall into the crankcase. When the FP004 arrives, check the oil level first, exactly as the owner's manual of the Monster 795 describes, then turn the new cap in by hand until it seats. Never use a tool to force it. A look at the filler after the next ride confirms that everything has stayed dry.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FP004 for two versions of the Monster 795, the Corse Stripe of 2014 and 2015 and the Red Stripe of 2015, both with ABS. Because the cap is defined by its thread, we also carry it for the Monster 821, the Monster 1200 and the Hypermotard 821. If your Monster 795 carries a different cap today, check that its thread is M20x2.5 before ordering. For the rear brake reservoir of this bike, Accossato offers the TS012.
Road Approval
No German ABE or other approval documents are available to us for this oil cap, so the FP004 is offered for circuit and competition use.
