DescriptionThe whole story▼
The name MT-03 has been used by Yamaha for two motorcycles that have almost nothing in common. The first, built from 2006, was a big single with enormous low-down drive and a look all of its own. The second is the small twin that most riders picture today, a light machine for new licences. Accossato's list covers both, and the FC124 is the quick-release fuel tank cap given for them: aluminium, machined on CNC equipment, with the pawl in a choice of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha MT-03
- Accossato lists 2006 to 2012, the year 2020 and 2022 to 2026
- Entries cover both the single-cylinder and the twin-cylinder MT-03
- Aluminium body, machined on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- No German ABE documented; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Whichever MT-03 you own, the cap is the same: aluminium throughout, cut on CNC machines, which Accossato calls robust and durable, with a design of its own. The quick-closing pawl does the work, opening the tank with a single movement and shutting it the same way, and the pin inside it supplies the colour, chosen from six when the order is placed. A damaged pawl is replaced on its own rather than with a complete cap, which is the sort of detail that decides whether a part is still worth owning after a few seasons.
Two Different Machines, One Name
A name that has been reused causes more confusion in a parts catalogue than almost anything else. Accossato handles it by keeping the generations apart: one line for the MT-03 660 of 2006 to 2012, one for the MT-03 321 A of 2020 and one for the MT-03 321 from 2022 onwards. Read together, they explain the gaps in the years shown here, and they explain why a description of your machine as an MT-03 is not enough on its own. Before ordering, find the year of your bike and, if you can, the designation on the registration document. Send both to us if there is any doubt, and we will match them against the current list rather than working from the name alone.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entries for the FC124 give the MT-03 660 from 2006 to 2012, the MT-03 321 A for 2020 and the MT-03 321 from 2022 to 2026. Years outside those blocks are not listed for this cap. We also catalogue the FC124 for the MT-07, the MT-125 and the R3. Check the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no parts certificate documented for this cap, so it is intended for closed circuits. On the road the MT-03 keeps its factory cap, which normally opens with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
One Accossato FC124 fuel tank cap with the pawl in the colour you order. The pawl can be reordered as a spare on its own.
