DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale V2 took over from the 959 for 2020, with styling close to that of the Panigale V4 and an updated version of the twin-cylinder Superquadro engine. Some V2s go on to a second life as dedicated track bikes: road equipment off, race bodywork on, number boards where the licence plate used to be. A conversion like that is a list of small decisions, and the filler cap is one of them. The cap Accossato lists for the Panigale V2 of 2020 to 2024 is the FC105: quick-release, made wholly of CNC-machined aluminium, with a pawl whose pin comes in one of six colours.

- Replacement pawl available separately
- Takes the place of the original cap; confirm fitment on the application list
- No German ABE documented; track use
Construction and Material Quality
The FC105 is CNC-machined aluminium through and through, a new design that Accossato describes as robust and durable. Its quick-closing pawl opens and closes the filler of the Panigale V2 without fuss, and the pin on the pawl is where you pick one of six colours. As the pawl can be bought on its own, damage to it does not mean replacing the whole cap, which suits a track bike that may one day meet the gravel.
From Road Bike to Track Bike
Turning a road-registered Panigale V2 into a track bike usually starts with what comes off: mirrors, indicators, the number-plate hanger, often the headlight and the passenger footrests. What goes on depends on the budget and on the organiser's rules, from race bodywork and rearsets to a quick-release fuel cap. Keep the road parts together and write down what came off, so the bike can be returned to standard or sold later with everything it came with, and put the original filler cap in the same box. The cap swap is the smallest job on the list, but it deserves the same care as the others. Do it with the engine cold and the tank not brim-full, clean the filler area before the old cap comes off, and seat the new one evenly. Then fill up and check for dampness at the rim before the first session. A track bike that weeps fuel is not ready, however good the rest of the conversion looks.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the FC105 for the Panigale V2 from 2020 to 2024, including the Troy Bayliss edition that appears on the list. At Inter-Pace the same cap is also listed for the DesertX, among others. The cap takes the place of the stock filler cap, and the application list is the reference for whether your V2 is covered, so it is worth checking before you order.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no expert report for the FC105, so it is intended for the circuit. On the road the Panigale V2 keeps its factory cap, which normally opens with the ignition key; the Accossato cap is no simple swap for public roads.
