Spark's R3 programme started on Luca Bernardi's race bike and ended the 2018 season with an Italian SSP300 title. This is the full titanium version of that system: titanium collector, Konix silencer, and a measured 107 dB — the figure the CIV championship works to.
Key Features
- Full titanium racing system for the Yamaha R3 and YZF-R3.
- Titanium collector, Ø60 mm, with a Konix titanium silencer.
- 107 dB — within the limit required by the Italian CIV championship.
- dB killer included.
- Collector sized for gas delivery and built for endurance-race reliability.
- 2019 model year needs a specific bracket to keep the original footpegs.
Developed in a Championship
Spark's R&D for the little Yamaha twin was a targeted project run with teams in the Italian CIV and the SSP300 World Championship. Development began on Luca Bernardi's machine and led to the Italian SSP300 title in 2018.
It did not stop there. Spark continued the work on Team Machado's WSSP300 bikes and with Team MMR and Kevin Arduini in CIV 2020, and gives an explicit reason: European circuits keep tightening their noise regulations, so each evolution has to make more power inside a smaller decibel budget.
The 107 dB Number
Spark publishes a figure for every silencer that fits this collector: the Force 300 mm in Ø50 makes 102 dB, the same case in Ø60 makes 104, the Konix comes in at 107, and the MotoGP at 112 for what Spark calls the extreme and ultra-light version.
107 dB is the number because that is what CIV requires. If your championship or trackday works to a tighter figure, the Force options exist for exactly that reason. The dB killer is included in the box either way.
Titanium All the Way Forward
This build has a titanium collector as well as a titanium silencer. Spark also sells the identical system with an AISI 304 stainless collector as GYA8856T for 968 euro — 377 euro less, and the only difference is the material of the pipework ahead of the silencer.
On a 321 cc twin every kilo counts more than it does on a superbike, which is why the full titanium version exists on a bike of this size at all.
The Collector Is the Engineering
Spark states that the system was designed starting from the best sizing for the collectors, to optimise gas delivery, and that the collector was built with attention to construction detail for top reliability. On a small twin ridden at the limiter for a whole race, the second part matters as much as the first.
One Fitment Note for 2019 Machines
Spark specifies that on the 2019 model year a specific bracket is required if the original footpegs are to be kept. That applies to this kit and to its siblings. Tell us your model year when you order and we will sort the bracket out with the system.
Track Use Only
Spark lists this system as not approved. It must not be fitted to a motorcycle ridden on public roads; the decibel figures relate to circuit regulations only.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha R3 and YZF-R3, 2015 onwards — Spark's own model list runs to 2024, the price list to 2026. The stainless-collector build is GYA8856T at 968 euro; the 2024 evolution with a Force Evo silencer is GYA8897T at 1.488 euro.
Road Approval
None. Spark lists this system as not approved; it is built for closed-circuit use and must not be fitted to a motorcycle ridden on public roads.
