The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper. The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Part number 00403-16 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Check dimension a 49 mm, dimension b 220 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Öhlins pressure-tests its hoses because a reservoir line carries the full gas charge. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00403-16

Category: Reservoirs

Dimension A: 49 mm

Dimension B: 220 mm

Finish: Black

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00403-16_1c6a6aaa-69c0-412c-931e-6ab2ae18b893.png?v=1788869301
