Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to. Preload adjusters carry the full spring force and are built accordingly. Öhlins publishes the click count for each unit, and a rebuilt adjuster should return it.

Why the Original

Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 21653-14 in this case. Öhlins states dimension a 1.5 mm, dimension b 23 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Öhlins publishes the click count for each unit, and a rebuilt adjuster should return it.
