DescriptionThe whole story▼
The K-Tech DDS Lite delivers genuine race-derived suspension performance for the Triumph Street Triple 765 S, R and RS at a price point that makes a meaningful upgrade accessible to everyday road riders and occasional track-day enthusiasts alike. Built on the same core architecture as the DDS Pro, it offers four-way adjustability and full upgrade potential — so your investment grows with your ambitions.
Key Features
- Four-way adjustability covers compression damping, rebound damping, manual spring preload and ride-height — giving you a broad range of set-up options without specialist equipment
- 32 clicks of compression adjustment and 32 clicks of rebound adjustment allow precise, repeatable damping changes between road and track sessions
- Manual spring preload adjustment accommodates varying rider weights and luggage loads with ease
- Length adjustment lets you fine-tune chassis geometry and ride height to suit your riding style or circuit requirements
- CNC-machined components throughout deliver the dimensional accuracy and long-term durability expected from a premium aftermarket shock absorber
- DDS technology includes integrated potentiometer mounting points, making a future upgrade to Pro specification straightforward at any K-Tech service centre
- A wide range of spring rates in the 55–155 series is available, ensuring the correct spring for your weight and intended use
Everyday Usability and Long-Term Value
Where many performance shock absorbers demand a compromise between road comfort and track response, the DDS Lite is designed to do both well. The 32-click compression and rebound circuits are wide-ranging enough to soften the unit for daily commuting on imperfect roads, then firm it up for a weekend track day without removing the shock from the bike. The manual preload collar is accessible with basic tools, and the recommended baseline settings — 12 clicks compression, 12 clicks rebound, 12 mm preload — provide a proven starting point for a 765 Street Triple straight out of the box.
The Lite designation refers specifically to the absence of hydraulic preload adjustment and the bypass valve found on the Pro model; every other element of the damper hardware and the DDS cartridge design is shared. This means the unit can be upgraded to full Pro specification at any point, protecting the value of your initial purchase.
Build Quality and Construction
K-Tech manufactures the DDS Lite in the United Kingdom to the same tolerances used in their World Supersport and British Superbike-supplied components. The 35 mm body diameter and 12 mm damper rod are machined to tight tolerances, and the upper and lower eye mounts — 30 mm wide with a 10 mm bolt and 41 mm wide with a 10 mm bolt respectively — are designed as direct replacements for the original Triumph hardware. A SKU length tolerance of -3/+3 mm is held across the 283 mm nominal length, and the 60 mm stroke is calibrated to work within the Street Triple's standard suspension travel envelope.
Fitment and Compatibility
This shock absorber is a direct-fit replacement for the following models:
- Triumph Street Triple 765 S (2017–2026)
- Triumph Street Triple 765 R (2017–2026)
- Triumph Street Triple 765 RS (2017–2026)
Installation requires specialist tools and techniques. For maximum safety and optimum performance, fitting by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended.
