Two Drillings for One Motorcycle

Brake manufacturers do not agree on where clamp bolts belong, and some change the arrangement between generations of the same cylinder. Rather than force a compromise, JetPrime makes the switch in both patterns and lets the bike decide which is correct.

Reading the Clamp

Offset means one bolt sits ahead of the other relative to the handlebar axis. Deducing it from a product name is unreliable; standing at the bar and looking settles the question in a moment and prevents an unnecessary return.

The SCS and Its Automatic Clutch

Some Turismo Veloce versions use a Rekluse centrifugal clutch that allows the bike to be held stationary in gear without the lever. MV was unusually early to fit one to a sport tourer, and in traffic it is more useful than the specification suggests.

Semi-Active Damping

The Lusso versions adjust their suspension continuously according to what the sensors report. On a machine expected to carry luggage and a passenger as well as being ridden hard solo, that range of loads is more than a static setup can reasonably cover.

Where the Wear Accumulates

Mode selection and the display navigation, worked across long days rather than in short sessions. Nothing on the standard housing fails; the two clipped halves develop play and the buttons across the joint stop feeling definite.

Sealed Elements

Contacts sealed inside a one-piece milled body. A touring MV meets more weather in a season than a sports one does in five years, and the absence of a moulded joint is what keeps that outside.

Black Anodised

A single finish, through the surface. It dulls with age rather than chipping, which on a motorcycle expected to cover serious mileage is the more useful property.
