A Museum Piece on a Circuit
The Guggenheim has exhibited an F4 as industrial design, and a good many owners take theirs to track days regardless. Tamburini drew a motorcycle that is beautiful and also genuinely fast, and the second half of that tends to get used.
Radial Valves at High Revs
The four-cylinder engine spins beyond thirteen thousand and makes its power there. On a circuit that means constant gear changes and a rider with very little spare attention for finding a control on the handlebar.
Removing the Road Set
Indicators and horn come off with the lights, and the positions they occupied go too. The remaining controls sit further apart, which is what allows identification by counting rather than by looking down.
Standard Wiring
MV's own connector and the factory ECU. No racing harness is needed, which keeps the conversion reversible and the motorcycle diagnosable, both of which matter on a bike valued substantially for its originality.
Tight Behind the Fairing
Tamburini shaped the bodywork for airflow rather than access, and the space around the clip-ons is minimal. A compact machined housing takes less of it than a moulded assembly with a cover clipped over the top.
Sealed for Hot Washing
Sealed elements inside a one-piece body. F4s used on circuits are cleaned while still warm, and a jet finds every moulded joint there is. This housing does not have one.
Black Anodised
A single finish, converted into the surface rather than applied. On a track-prepared F4 the cockpit should stay quiet, and a scuff dulls the component instead of exposing bright metal.
