DescriptionThe whole story▼

Cruiser riders use the rear brake far more than sport riders do. On the Kawasaki VN900 Classic, with its low seat and forward controls, the rear pedal is often the first brake touched when slowing for a junction. Accossato's AGPP251 rear pad in the Organic mixture fits the VN900 Classic from 2006 to 2021 and, according to the catalogue, the Classic SE from 2011 to 2016. It suits riders who want a smooth, quiet rear brake that is gentle on the disc.

Key Features

  • AGPP251 rear pads for the Kawasaki VN900 Classic, 2006 to 2021
  • Organic mixture, article AGPP251OR
  • Accossato: long life, low disc wear
  • Soft, well-judged pedal for cruiser riding
  • Quiet during slow riding and parking
  • Only compound Accossato offers on this rear plate
  • No German approval held; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's claim for this mixture is long, stable performance and light wear on the disc. On a cruiser whose rear brake works hard in everyday use, that keeps the rotor in good shape for longer. The company also says its pads stay cool enough to limit fade and that they brake firmly. The Organic material sits on the AGPP251 plate.

The Cruiser's Busy Brake

Many cruiser owners slow the bike first with the rear, then add the front. At walking pace, the rear pedal also steadies the machine in U-turns and on sloping driveways. With the weight of a VN900 Classic, a rear pad that takes up gently and progressively makes these low-speed moments far more relaxed. It is also quiet, which suits the character of the bike.

Since the rear brake does so much work on a cruiser, check the pad thickness more often than on a sports bike. Keep the caliper clean, and after changing the pads press the pedal a few times until it is firm.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato catalogues AGPP251 for the rear of the VN 900 Classic from 2006 to 2021 and the VN 900 Classic SE from 2011 to 2016; our garage shows the Kawasaki VN900 Classic. For a Classic SE built after 2016, compare the old pads before ordering. The front pad is AGPA95. One box equips the rear caliper.

Road Approval

AGPP251OR has no ABE or approval document in our records and is supplied for competition use.
