DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MY008 brings the two-toned GR006 grip to Accossato's quick-throttle kit for the current Suzuki GSX-R1000, built from 2017 onward, supplied with the matched SU008 cable and three interchangeable inner cams. Five grip colours are available for the GR006, set against the eight cap colours of the housing, giving more scope for a two-colour cockpit than the single-shade GR001 or fixed GR002 used on the other two kits for this bike.
Key Features
- Accossato quick-throttle control built specifically for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 (2017 onward)
- Supplied with the matched SU008 throttle cable set
- GR006 two-toned racing grip included, choice of five grip colours
- Eight cap colours for the anodised throttle housing
- Three interchangeable inner cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, included
- Housing made from two CNC-worked aluminium half-rings
- Sold under code MY008
Construction and Material Quality
The housing follows Accossato's usual two-half-ring aluminium construction, anodised in eight cap colours, common to every kit in the range including the MY008. Its GR006 grip is two-toned, sold in five grip colours rather than the GR001's eight, trading colour range for the option of a two-tone finish. Three inner cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, are included, a bigger one giving a quicker and longer-stroke throttle by Accossato's own description, a smaller one the reverse. The SU008 cable supplied is cut for the GSX-R1000 introduced from 2017, not the earlier SU004-equipped bike.
A Two-Tone Grip for the Current GSX-R1000
Where the GR001 and GR002 kits for this GSX-R1000 leave the grip as a single colour, the GR006 fitted here is the only one of the three that can carry two colours at once, set by choosing from its five options alongside the cap finish. On a bike as widely raced and ridden as the current GSX-R1000, that two-tone option is one of the more direct ways to set the cockpit apart from a GSX-R1000 fitted with either of the other two MY-coded kits, since the housing, cable and cams underneath are otherwise identical across all three kits sold for this generation of GSX-R1000.
Fitment and Compatibility
This kit is for the current Suzuki GSX-R1000, built from 2017 to 2021; an earlier GSX-R1000 needs the SU004-based kit, listed separately on the Fitment tab, since the two chassis generations do not share a cable. Installing the MY008 replaces the Suzuki's original throttle control and cable run as one assembly.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY008; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. After fitting, confirm that the throttle returns to idle by itself through its full range before riding the bike.
