DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati Diavel 1260 took the power cruiser into its second generation in 2019, with a new frame and the variable-timing twin that Ducati also used in the Multistrada. Owners who take a Diavel 1260 to a track day or a closed-course training session often like to give it a few details of their own for the occasion. The FC107 from Accossato is one such detail. Listed for the Diavel 1260 from 2019 to 2022, it is a CNC-machined aluminium cap with quick release, opened and closed by a pawl whose pin comes in six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Ducati Diavel 1260, 2019 to 2022
- Aluminium throughout, CNC-machined by Accossato
- Quick-closing pawl: tank open and closed again quickly
- Pin colour choice: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Replacement pawl available separately
- Part number FC107
- No German ABE documented, for the track
Construction and Material Quality
At the heart of the FC107 is its quick-closing pawl, which lets the tank be opened and closed in a moment. The pawl carries a pin in the colour of your choice, whether blue, green, black, red, silver or gold, and it is also the one part you can buy on its own if it is ever damaged. Around it, the cap is made entirely of aluminium, machined on CNC equipment. Accossato describes the result as strong and durable and calls the design new and attractive, a combination that suits a bike as design-led as the Diavel 1260.
The First Hour After Fitting
The time straight after fitting a new cap tells you most about whether it has gone on properly. Do the job with the Diavel 1260 parked, the engine cold and the ignition off, and clean the filler area before the original cap comes off, so no dirt drops in. With the Accossato cap in place, look closely at the seal: it should sit evenly all the way round, not pinched or twisted anywhere. Close the cap and fill the tank to its usual level, not to the brim. Leave the bike on its side stand for a while and look again, then stand it upright and check a third time. A dry filler and no smell of fuel mean you can move on to the next job. Any dampness around the rim means the cap comes off again and the seating is corrected before the bike goes anywhere.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Diavel 1260, Accossato's list gives the FC107 from 2019 to 2022 and names one further 2021 version separately. For the Diavel 1260 S, the list shows only 2021. Three other Ducatis we list the FC107 for are the Hypermotard 950, the Multistrada 950 and the Multistrada 1260 Enduro. Before you order, set the year of your Diavel 1260 against the list.
Road Approval
The FC107 comes without German ABE or expert report, so it is meant for the circuit. Road bikes usually leave the factory with a cap that locks, and on public roads the Diavel 1260 should keep its original.
