DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many riders, Yamaha's TT-R125 is the first real off-road motorcycle: a small four-stroke single with a manual clutch, made for trails, fields and practice tracks. The LW, which Accossato calls the Big Wheels version, stands on larger wheels than the standard TT-R125 and is often the bike a young rider grows into. Hands grow too, and a lever set for last year's hands does not suit this year's. Accossato's ESY688 is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the TT-R125LW of 2005 to 2016, with a reach that can keep up.

- Fixed blade without a hinge
- No German ABE documented; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's own roots lie in off-road competition, and among its successes is an enduro world title won in 1985. The ESY688 is a machined lever: aluminium shaped on CNC equipment and anodised, black at the hub and coloured along the blade. The hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster. As a fixed lever it is one rigid piece without a folding joint, which gives a young rider on a TT-R125LW a clear, consistent sense of where the clutch bites. It also cannot swing aside in a fall, so on a bike that will go down now and then, keeping the original lever as a spare is sensible.
Set for Small Hands, Reset as They Grow
A TT-R125LW often stays in the family for years. It is passed from one child to the next, or kept while a teenager grows from careful first laps into a confident rider. The bike changes little in that time; the rider changes a great deal. In the first season the clutch has to come to small fingers, so set the blade close to the grip and consider the short version, which a small hand can pull all the way without trapping the other fingers. Finding the friction point, holding it and letting it out slowly is far easier when the lever asks for no stretch, and fewer stalls mean more riding and less frustration. As the hands grow, move the blade outward a little at a time, so the fingers meet it at the first joint rather than curling around it. Eventually the short blade may be outgrown, and the standard or the long version, with its extra leverage, becomes the better fit. Check the setting whenever new gloves arrive.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESY688 for the TT-R 125 LW Big Wheels in two periods, 2005 to 2007 and 2008 to 2016, fitted at the original clutch mounting; together they cover the TT-R125LW from 2005 to 2016. The list has no Accossato brake lever for this bike, so the clutch lever is offered on its own.
Road Approval
For the ESY688 there is no documented German ABE; we sell it for use on the track.
