This medium passes about a ninth of what the standard weave passes, and it does so at every throttle opening on every ride, whether the air is dirty or clean. That is the largest reduction in rated flow anywhere in Sprint Filter's range, and it deserves a deliberate choice. Neither element makes a standard 790 Adventure faster: a replacement panel in an unaltered airbox does not add output, and no honest description of one claims that it does. What a Sprint Filter element gives instead is an intake restriction that starts low and returns to that figure every time it is cleaned.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCare and cleaning\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn the ordinary case the PM155T12 is serviced without a single liquid. Compressed air at the clean side, worked outwards across the mat, pushes the day's load back out the way it came. Heavier loading calls for hand-warm water with a mild detergent, rinsed until the water runs clear. After that it dries in moving air and nothing quicker — heat damages the medium — and it is refitted only when dry throughout.
