Port area and seat geometry decide the damping before any adjuster is touched. A scored piston face means oil bypasses the shims entirely. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually.

Why the Original

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 06779-06. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. A check valve holds pressure in one direction and opens in the other; a worn one lets damping bleed away. The piston carries the shim stacks and meters the oil through its ports.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 06779-06

Category: Pistons

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/06779-06_13810b87-5be0-4a06-8497-550451070e57.png?v=1788878014
