DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 022 is the passive answer to the Hypermotard 821's side stand circuit: nothing powered, nothing configured and nothing that can behave differently in the wet.
Key Features
- Ducati Hypermotard 821 (2013–2016)
- Answers the side stand input
- Lets the engine run in gear with no stand fitted
- Plugs into Ducati's own connector
- Nothing cut, nothing spliced
- Standard switch refits at any time
Two Hundred and Four Kilograms
Wet, which was heavier than the air-cooled bike and entirely justified by how much easier the 821 was to live with day to day.
Keep It on a Road Bike
With a stand still fitted the interlock is doing real work. Disabling it turns an easy mistake into a locked rear wheel at a junction.
Not the Clutch Switch
Ducati reads the clutch lever separately, and a bike that will not start in gear may be reporting either. Establishing which saves ordering the wrong part.
Not a Performance Part
There is no weight worth mentioning and nothing that affects how the motorcycle rides. It removes a fault or enables a removal.
What Mud Does
It packs into the mechanism, holds the plunger out and reports a deployed stand on its own. Washing it out helps for a ride or two.
Keep the Original
Even a failed switch belongs in the parts box. It makes the refit straightforward and a buyer will want to see that the standard part exists.
What the Eliminator Presents
The state the controller reads as a retracted stand, in a potted body carrying Ducati's own connector. There is nothing to configure, nothing to power and nothing that can drift, because it is a passive part doing a passive job.
The Interlock Is Not Only the Stand
Ducati's starting logic combines the side stand, the clutch and the gear position sensor, and the controller decides from all three. Answering the stand input changes one term in that decision and leaves the others exactly as they were, which is why the clutch still has to be pulled in to start the engine.
