DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES KIT11 is the full mechanical secondary air deletion for the earlier S1000R, both halves in one part number.
Key Features
- BMW S1000R (2013–2020)
- Both halves of the secondary air deletion
- Airbox plug and cylinder head cover
- One part number, one fitting session
- No drilling and no splicing
- Every standard part refits afterwards
What Arrives
A machined plug for the airbox port and a cover for the cylinder head. Between them they close the whole path.
One Disassembly
Both halves need the tank and airbox off, which is the practical reason to buy them together rather than a fortnight apart.
The Pre-2021 Bike
This kit fits the S1000R before the redesign. BMW changed the head arrangement with the new engine and the later bikes need different parts.
A Naked Superbike Four
Detuned for midrange and fitted with wide bars, and quicker than almost anything it was compared with. The first S1000R was never a soft option.
The Sequence
Tank, airbox, hose, head cover, then the plug on reassembly. Ordinary tools and nothing to reset afterwards.
Machined Rather Than Improvised
Rubber caps and tape both fail under heat and pressure cycling, generally without anybody noticing until the filter is next out.
Before Any Mapping
Air entering the exhaust after combustion shifts every reading a dyno produces. Serious fuelling work starts with the system gone.
Original Fasteners
BMW's own positions and torque values, with nothing drilled anywhere.
Reversible
Keep the standard housing and hose and the bike returns to specification in one evening.
Homologation
Removing emissions equipment ends road legality where the system belongs to the approval.
Two Hundred and Seven Kilograms
Wet, which was heavy for a naked bike in 2014 and stopped being relevant the moment the throttle was opened. BMW never pretended the first S1000R was light and never needed to, because the engine made the argument for it.
A Cheap Way Onto a Circuit
Values have fallen far enough that a first-generation S1000R is within reach of riders who would never have considered one new, and a great many end up at track days as a result. Preparation follows the same short list every time.
