DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES KIT01 deletes the Tuono 660's secondary air system in full, with both halves supplied together.
Key Features
- Aprilia Tuono 660 (2021–2026)
- Both halves of the secondary air deletion
- Solenoid eliminator plus the head blank
- One part number, one fitting session
- No drilling and no splicing
- Every standard part refits afterwards
What Arrives
A pre-wired connector for the monitored circuit and an aluminium blank for the cylinder head. Between them they account for the entire system.
Half a Job Is Worse Than None
Cap the ports on their own and the warning lamp stays lit. Answer the circuit on its own and the reeds are still in there ageing. Either way something is left undone.
One Session
With both pieces to hand the bodywork is disturbed a single time. Anyone who has spent a Sunday getting to the top of an engine understands why that is worth paying for.
Ninety-Five Horsepower
Softened slightly from the RS 660 tune to suit the wide bars. On a road the Tuono is quicker than the faired bike more often than anyone admits.
The Overrun on a Naked Bike
With no fairing between the header and the rider, the crackle from residue burning after the cylinder is unmistakable. Removing the air is the only fix.
The Sequence
Seat, tank, hose, housing, blank, connector. Ordinary tools throughout and nothing needing a special fitting.
Nothing Drilled or Spliced
Everything mates where Aprilia intended it to. No wire is opened, no bracket is bent and the casting keeps every thread it left Noale with.
A Real Pillion Seat
Unusually for the class, someone can sit on the back for an hour without complaining. Aprilia treated the Tuono as a road bike first.
Homologation
Across the European market a machine without this equipment is no longer in its approved condition, and that is a matter of registration rather than of engineering.
Reversible
Keep the standard parts and the motorcycle returns to specification in one evening.
Eight Hundred and Twenty Millimetres
Seat height, which is low enough for most riders and rare on a bike with this much ground clearance. Aprilia got the compromise right, and it is one of the quiet reasons the Tuono is easier to live with than its specification suggests.
A Twin Built From Half a V4
Aprilia took one bank of the RSV4 architecture and made a parallel twin out of it, which is why the 660 revs the way it does. The emissions package around it was designed for that character rather than inherited from something slower.
