DescriptionThe whole story▼
A slim fin along the top of the chain. It is the cheapest part in the Brutale 800 range and the one whose absence a technical inspector notices first, on a motorcycle whose whole right side is open to view.
Key Features
- Chain guard, standard shape
- Swingarm mounting, original fixings
- Autoclave-cured carbon, four versions
- MV Agusta Brutale 800, 2015 to 2026
Chain Maintenance Is Easier on This Bike
A naked motorcycle gives straight access to the whole chain run, which is why Brutale owners tend to lubricate and adjust more often than sportbike owners do. The guard comes off in a minute and goes back the same way, and it is worth taking off rather than working around: a spray can aimed past a fitted guard leaves half the lubricant on the guard.
After every adjustment, put it back and check the clearance. Moving the axle changes the geometry beside it, and a guard that was clear can end up touching.
At this price it is also the sensible thing to keep a spare of. A guard that has been knocked out of line is not worth straightening, and a motorcycle without one will not pass a technical inspection.
Fitment and Compatibility
MV Agusta Brutale 800, 2015 to 2026, with the original swingarm. Also listed for the F3 675 and the F3 800.
Road Approval
No road-traffic approval is documented by the manufacturer. Several countries require a chain guard; this part performs that function but carries no approval of its own.
