DescriptionThe whole story▼

One hundred and nine decibels. That is the entire reason this part exists — Akrapovic developed it for circuits where a 109 dB/A limit applies, and if your meeting does not impose one, you do not need it.

Key Features

  • Developed specifically for 109 dB/A noise limits
  • Stainless steel construction
  • Made for the Akrapovic Evolution Line on the CRF250R and RX
  • Covers the 2025 and 2026 machines
  • An optional part, not a replacement for the standard insert

What 109 dB/A Actually Means

It is a static measurement taken at a fixed engine speed and a fixed distance, and it is the figure a scrutineer records at the gate of a motocross meeting. Different governing bodies set different limits, and 109 dB/A is a common one for national and club-level competition.

An Evolution Line without this damper is louder than that. With it, the reading comes down to where the rule allows.

Buy It Before the Season, Not at the Gate

The practical advice. A rider turned away at scrutineering has already paid the entry fee and driven to the circuit, and a part this small is not something a paddock trader will have on the shelf.

Check the regulations for the meetings you intend to enter and order accordingly.

Optional, and the Word Is Meant

Akrapovic calls it an optional noise damper. The Evolution Line is complete and usable without it; this is an additional restrictor for a specific rule.

It is worth distinguishing from the removable inserts that ship with several exhausts in this catalogue. Those come in the box. This is a separate purchase for a stricter limit.

Stainless Steel

Not titanium, and not carbon. A damper sits in the gas path where it takes the full heat and the full pulse of a 250 four-stroke at nine thousand revs, and stainless steel is what survives that season after season without cracking.

It Will Cost Some Power

Any restriction in the outlet does. Akrapovic publishes no figure for how much, so none is quoted here — but a rider fitting one should expect the system to breathe less freely than it does without.

That is the exchange the rule asks for, and it is the same exchange every noise insert in motorsport represents.

Keep Both, and Label Them

A rider who races at more than one venue will move between configurations through a season. The damper is small, easy to lose in a toolbox and impossible to identify by sight once it is out of the exhaust.

Keep it in a marked bag with the noise reading it produced written on the outside. That saves an argument at the next gate.

The Current CRF250R

Honda's 2025 and 2026 machines. The Evolution Line this damper belongs to covers the CRF250R and the enduro-oriented CRF250RX, and the damper follows the same fitment.

Road Approval

Not applicable in the usual sense. This is a competition part addressing a circuit noise regulation, and the motorcycle it fits has no road approval to begin with.
