DescriptionThe whole story▼
Owners of a Ducati Multistrada V2 who look through Accossato's range find two floating front discs listed for their bike. Both have a 320 mm ring and a black carrier, both are sold as replacements for the original disc, and at first glance they look almost identical. The difference is the thickness of the friction ring, the part that turns the bike's speed into heat whenever the rider brakes. This is the DK053, the version with a 4.5 mm ring, listed for the Multistrada V2 from 2022 to 2024.
Key Features
- Floating front disc for the Ducati Multistrada V2, 2022 to 2024
- Friction ring 320 mm across and 4.5 mm thick
- 72 mm inner diameter
- Black carrier, ring joined by rivets
- Replaces the original front disc, according to Accossato
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- One disc per order; the V2 carries two at the front
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Like every floating disc, the DK053 is made of a friction ring and a carrier. The carrier, black on this disc, sits on the hub with a 72 mm centre; the ring, 320 mm in diameter and 4.5 mm thick, is attached to it by rivets that leave it free to move a fraction. Accossato explains that its brake discs draw on its racing experience in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, with particular attention to material selection and to the fit between carrier and ring. The lowest usable thickness is printed on the disc.
Two Discs, One Decision
Accossato lists two front discs for the Multistrada V2: this DK053 and the DKS053, whose ring is a millimetre thicker and whose listing also gives the hole circle and the fixing holes. Both are described as interchangeable with the original equipment. For the owner, the practical question is which one to fit, and the answer starts with the discs already on the bike.
Measure your current discs with a micrometer on the friction surface and read the markings on them, then look up the thickness in the Multistrada V2's service documentation. Whichever version you choose, fit the same one on both sides of the front wheel, so that the two calipers work under the same conditions. And whatever the thickness when new, the figure that matters over time is the minimum printed on the disc: once a disc approaches it, it is due for replacement, and Accossato points out that a worn disc can break under extreme stress.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK053 for the Multistrada V2 from 2022 to 2024, with the DKS053 as an alternative for the same bike and years. The Multistrada V2 has two front discs, so two DK053 are needed for a complete change. Fit new pads at the same time, clean the friction surfaces before the first ride and tighten the disc bolts to the torque Ducati specifies.
Road Approval
We offer the DK053 for track and competition use; no German ABE and no type approval are documented for it.
