DescriptionThe whole story▼

Some enduro events include a short section built from tractor tyres, logs and concrete blocks, a test of balance and clutch control more than of speed. For a Husqvarna TX 125 such a section is hard work: the small two-stroke has to be kept in its power while the bike crawls, hops and balances. The clutch lever is in constant use, and the bike often ends up on its side. Accossato's C7284 for the TX 125 of 2017 is machined from solid Ergal 7075, folds on a joint and has a blade long enough for four fingers.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the Husqvarna TX 125 of 2017
  • Fits the original clutch mount in place of the stock lever
  • Longer blade, which Accossato lays out for four fingers
  • Anti-break joint, as Accossato names it, lets the blade fold forward
  • Milled in Italy from solid Ergal 7075
  • Blade in black, blue or orange; dark base
  • One lever per package
  • No German ABE on file; off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Ergal is the name under which the 7075 aluminium alloy has long been known in Italy, and it is the material Accossato uses for the C7284. The alloy's main addition is zinc, and it is valued wherever aluminium has to be very strong. The lever is CNC-machined in Italy from a solid piece, with strength, lightness and reliability as the aims. It is made of a dark base, which holds the pivot at the clutch control, and a coloured blade that hangs from the base on a joint. The blade has Accossato's long clutch shape, for four fingers.

Tyres, Logs and Concrete

Artificial obstacles are unforgiving in their own way. A row of tyres gives under the wheels and then throws the bike sideways; a log is slippery on its bark and stops the front wheel dead if you hit it without lift; concrete edges are hard and sharp. Riding them on a 125 means keeping the revs up and doing almost everything with the clutch: a slip to lift the front onto the log, a quick release to kick the rear over, a pull to keep the engine from stalling as the bike balances on top.

When it goes wrong, the bike drops from a height onto hard edges. If it lands on its left side, the clutch lever is usually the first thing to break, and a snapped lever ends the ride on the spot. The C7284 is made to fold at its joint on impact instead, which gives the TX 125 a chance of leaving the section with a working clutch. That chance is no guarantee, and a concrete edge can still do harm. For a rider who practises such obstacles, it is a sensible way to reduce the damage each fall does.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the C7284 for the Husqvarna TX 125 of 2017, mounted at the original clutch control. Its brake-side counterpart is the B8283 folding lever, which is also listed for the 2017 TX 125. Accossato does not list either lever for later model years of this bike. Both share the blade colours black, blue and orange, and both replace only the lever itself, leaving the rest of the controls as they are.

Road Approval

The C7284 has no German ABE; it is for off-road riding and competition only and is not approved for public roads.

Scope of Delivery
