DescriptionThe whole story▼

Red from toe cap to collar, the Leatt Moto 4.5 Evo Red is the version of the new Evo boot that nobody will overlook in the pit lane. Underneath the bold colour sits the same 2027 construction as the other Evo boots: a TPU shell, double ankle pivots on each side and 3DF impact foam around the ankles.

What makes the Evo stand out within Leatt's line-up is how it pairs that protection with movement. The one-piece front bellow and the hinge layout let the boot bend where your ankle needs it to, so it feels connected to the bike rather than like a cast.

Key Features

  • Monochrome red shell with black contrast inserts
  • Two pivot hinges per ankle for guided, controlled movement
  • Ankle zone protected by TPU and 3DF impact foam over padding
  • Auto-locking SlideLock at the top plus four Over-lock polymer buckles
  • Grip-enhancing inner panels and a flat inner profile for frame contact
  • Low-profile toe box for easier shifting
  • Steel-shank DualZone sole, CE certified by Leatt

Bike feel and sole

For many riders the sole decides whether a boot works or not. On the Moto 4.5 Evo, Leatt uses its DualZone design, which combines different hardness zones to balance grip, wear resistance and feel through the pegs. A long footpeg riding zone lets you ride on the arch in ruts and move to the toes for turns, and the internal steel shank keeps the sole from bending around the peg.

The low-profile toe box makes it simpler to get under the shifter, and the inner side is flat and grippy, so you can squeeze the bike with your legs.

Construction

The Evo is built around a 3D lower shell and a TPU upper. The front of the shaft uses a single-piece bellow instead of several stitched sections, which Leatt chose so the boot flexes evenly with the shin. Materials are mainly TPU and other plastics, rubber for the sole and synthetic leather, plus a steel shank and stainless-steel buckle bases.

Impact protection

TPU covers the main impact areas: an impact-reinforced shin plate at the front, a reinforced heel counter at the back and shaped protection over both ankles. Under the ankle TPU, Leatt adds 3DF impact foam on top of comfort padding to take the edge off knocks from footpegs and rocks.

The double-pivot ankle system supports the joint while still allowing a controlled range of motion. The boot is CE certified to EN 13634, the European standard for protective motorcycle footwear.

Closure and heel hold

Getting into the boot and closing it up is quick. At the top, the SlideLock one-way sliding closure locks itself as you pull the Velcro tab; below it, four polymer composite buckles with Over-lock system and stainless-steel bases hold the shell closed. An elastic collar helps seal the top against dirt.

Inside, an anti-slip heel and the heel grip ankle shape hold the foot in place, and Leatt states that the fit stays comfortable for riders with wider feet.

Lining and weather

A two-piece inner lining is padded for comfort and made water-resistant. That helps on damp mornings and through splashes; it is not a sealed membrane.

What you should know

Bright red shows dirt, roost marks and scuffs more than black does, so expect to clean the shell more often if you want it to stay vivid. The boot is not waterproof, because there is no membrane, only a water-resistant lining. Red is offered in EU 42 to EU 48 only, so riders with smaller or very large feet should look at the Black or White version.

Colour

The Red colourway is almost completely red: shell, buckles, straps and even the sole edge share the same strong tone. Black appears on the textured rear grip panel, the collar and inserts at the toe and ankle, and the toe carries a black EVO 4.5 marking. The result is a striking, single-colour boot that suits red bikes or a red kit and stands out clearly in photos and from the side of the track.
