DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Brutale 1000 RS arrived for 2021 as the more approachable member of MV Agusta's four-cylinder naked family, with a big four-cylinder engine and a less elaborate specification than the RR. It suits riders who want a Brutale 1000 for the road and the occasional day on a circuit. Without a fairing, a naked bike shows everything, including what happens when fuel misses the filler. For the Brutale 1000 RS of 2021 to 2023, Accossato lists the FC119, a quick-release fuel tank cap in CNC-machined aluminium with a pawl whose pin comes in six colours.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS, 2021 to 2023
  • Entirely CNC-machined aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl for quick refuelling
  • Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
  • Pawl can be ordered separately
  • New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
  • No German ABE documented; for the track

Construction and Material Quality

Aluminium, shaped on CNC machines, is the only material in the FC119, and Accossato vouches for it as robust and durable, with a newly drawn design. A quick-closing pawl lets you open the Brutale 1000 RS's tank quickly and close it again straight away. The pin on the pawl comes in the colour of your choice, and a replacement pawl can be bought by itself if the fitted one is damaged.

No Fairing to Catch the Drips

On a faired sports bike, a splash of fuel usually lands on bodywork first. On the Brutale 1000 RS there is little between the filler and the engine apart from the tank itself, and a spill runs down its flanks towards the frame and the top of the engine, where parts may still be hot if the bike has just come in. That is one more reason to refuel only with the engine switched off and given time to cool. Pour from a can whose spout reaches well into the filler, hold the can steady and stop before the fuel rises close to the rim. Keep a cloth under the spout as you withdraw it. Afterwards, close the FC119, wipe the tank and look down both sides of the engine for any wet patch; fuel evaporates quickly, but not before it can reach something warm. On a naked bike all of this happens in plain sight, which at least makes a spill easy to notice.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the Brutale 1000 RS from 2021 to 2023 with the FC119, and this product covers those years. The same cap is listed with us for the Brutale 1000 RR, the Brutale 1090 and the F4 RR 1000. Before ordering, check the year of your RS against the application list.

Road Approval

The FC119 is not documented with a German ABE or parts certificate and is therefore sold for circuit use. On the road, the Brutale 1000 RS should carry its original cap, normally opened with the ignition key.
