DescriptionThe whole story▼
The approach to a tight hairpin on a busy motocross track is a row of braking bumps, each one deeper by the end of the day. On a Honda CRF450R arriving there at speed, the front brake has to be used hard and precisely while the bike skips across the holes. Accossato's B8207 is a folding brake lever for the CRF450R from 2007 to 2022. It is CNC-machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, and its joint gives the blade a chance of folding forward if the approach ends in a fall.

Construction and Material Quality
The B8207 is produced in Italy, where CNC machines cut both of its parts from solid Ergal 7075. Accossato uses this high-strength aluminium alloy because its levers are meant to combine strength and reliability with low weight. The base, finished dark, fits over the pivot of the master cylinder and carries the joint; the blade, in black or red, is attached at that joint and can fold forward away from it. As a brake lever, the B8207 has the short blade Accossato designs for three fingers.
Braking Bumps and a Tight Hairpin
Braking bumps form where every rider slows at the same place, and a big four-stroke hits them hard. The way through is to stand, grip the bike with the knees, keep the weight towards the back and apply the front brake smoothly and firmly rather than in stabs, letting the suspension work. Grabbing the lever as the front wheel lands in a hole is what locks it, and a locked front on a 450 at speed rarely ends well. Towards the end of the approach, sit forward, ease off the front brake and let the bike turn into the rut.
When it goes wrong, the fall usually happens at the slowest point, in the corner itself: the front tucks in the rut and the bike drops on its side. The brake lever meets hard-packed dirt with the weight of the CRF450R behind it. A solid lever tends to bend or break; the B8207 has a joint that lets the blade swing forward, so it may come through and still be usable when you pick the bike up. There is no guarantee, but in a race where every position counts, a working front brake for the rest of the moto matters.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the B8207 for the Honda CRF450R in two version groups, 2007 to 2020 and 2021 to 2022, and it replaces the original lever on the stock front brake master cylinder. The C7210 folding clutch lever is listed for the CRF450R from 2004 to 2020, so the 2021 and 2022 bikes are covered on the brake side only. Both levers are available in black and red.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the B8207. It is intended for motocross and off-road competition, which is also where the CRF450R belongs.
