A cracked or snapped peak does not mean the end of a Leatt Moto 8.5. This Blue/Red part replaces the peak on that helmet, so you can keep riding a shell that is otherwise in good order. It is the same breakaway component Leatt fits to the Moto 8.5 Helmet Kit in the Blue/Red colourway of the V27 generation.
Which helmet it fits
Leatt lists this peak for the Moto 8.5 and nothing else. The 8.5 is the composite-fibre model of the Moto range, built in three shell sizes from XS/S up to XL/XXL, and the peak follows the contour of that shell. The single size covers all of them.
The Blue/Red graphic
Despite the name, most of the surface is white. A wide band runs down the centre carrying a large Leatt wordmark that shifts from cobalt blue through red into turquoise, almost like a holographic print. Navy chevrons line both side wings. The design belongs to the V27 Blue/Red helmet, so the peak lines up with that shell graphic.
Breakaway by design
On the Moto 8.5 the peak is meant to release when it is struck hard in a crash, which helps reduce the forces passed on to the head and neck. A peak that has done its job is often bent, split or missing a mount, and that is exactly the moment for a fresh one.
Material
Leatt specifies 100% chloride polypropylene, a plastic that flexes rather than shatters, which suits a part that takes roost, branches and the odd fall.
What you should know
This peak is for the Leatt Moto 8.5 only, not for the 7.5 or the 2.5. The colours are those of the V27 Blue/Red helmet; an older 8.5 in a different graphic will look mismatched. The visor extension from the helmet kit is a separate part and is not included.
