DescriptionThe whole story▼

The JP ACCGP DU020 fits the Ducati X Diavel built between 2016 and 2023, a cruiser that asks far more of its throttle hand at low revs than any Panigale ever does. A shorter, sixty-degree rotation makes the long, deliberate roll-on this bike is ridden with easier to judge precisely.

Key Features

  • Ducati X Diavel (2016–2023)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

A Cruiser's Different Throttle Demands

Most X Diavel riding happens well under half throttle, rolling on and off smoothly through traffic, sweeping bends, and long motorway stretches rather than snapping to full opening. A shorter rotation changes how quickly that modest, everyday movement of the wrist translates into engine response, and on a bike built around low-rev torque rather than top-end revs, that early, precise feel matters more than it might on a supersport.

Testastretta Torque, Delivered Sooner

The X Diavel's V-twin makes most of its character below the rev range a V4 superbike treats as idle, so the first few degrees of throttle opening do a disproportionate amount of the work. Reducing the twist-grip's total rotation to sixty degrees concentrates that early torque delivery into a shorter, more deliberate movement, which suits a motorcycle that rarely needs the last word of throttle at all.

Built From Solid, Not Stamped

JetPrime machines the shorter throttle cam from a solid billet of Ergal rather than forming it from sheet, which keeps the geometry producing the cable-like build of opening consistent over years of use. On a bike bought for comfortable, long-distance riding rather than track days, that consistency matters more than any single ride.

A Low, Relaxed Reach

The X Diavel's seating position stretches the rider's legs forward and keeps the wrist at a relatively neutral angle compared to a sportbike, which changes how fatigue builds on a long day. A shorter throttle rotation means less repeated movement through that angle on a motorway crossing an afternoon, something riders doing long, two-up trips tend to notice by the second fuel stop.

Three Preload Steps for a Heavier Bike

The progressive return spring and its three external preload settings let a rider tune how firmly the throttle snaps back to idle, which matters on a cruiser whose weight and low-speed manoeuvring put different demands on the wrist than a lightweight sportbike. A softer setting suits gentle city riding; a firmer one adds a more positive self-centring feel at speed.

Reversible, Diagnostics Included

Fitting follows the Plug and Play approach used across the GP Series range, so the original X Diavel throttle unbolts and the new one goes in without rewiring. A throttle position reset through diagnostic equipment afterwards is standard practice, and the stock grip can go back on at any point if the motorcycle changes hands or simply goes back to original specification.
