DescriptionThe whole story▼
The tank cover on the 2023 Streetfighter V4 is the panel your forearms rest against at a standstill and the surface a fuel nozzle passes over every time the bike is filled. It is bought for how it looks, and it is judged over the following years on how it handles those two contacts.
Key Features
- Upper tank cover for the 2023-2024 bodywork, direct replacement
- Four configurations in 200 Plain weave: clear coat, matt, satin and raw
- Autoclave-cured laminate across a broad domed surface
- Original fixing points and fasteners, fuel tank unmodified
- Raw carbon is the lightest and least expensive of the four
The Filler Is the Risk
Petrol does not harm a cured laminate, and it does not harm modern lacquer either. What causes damage at the filler is mechanical: a nozzle set down on the panel, a cap swung against it, a jacket sleeve dragged across while the tank is being filled.
All of it lands in the same place, within twenty centimetres of the filler. On a panel that costs what this one does, a moment of care at every fill is the whole maintenance regime.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Streetfighter V4, model years 2023 and 2024, on the original tank fixings. The 2020-2022 and 2025 machines each take their own article.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. It is a cover over the tank rather than a fuel-carrying component, but confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
What Each Finish Does From the Saddle
This panel is looked at more than any other on the motorcycle, from a fixed distance of about an arm's length, for hours at a time. That is a different test from looking good in a photograph.
Clear coat has the most depth and reflects the sky, which on a long ride is either beautiful or distracting depending on the rider. Matt is calm and shows the weave only when the light is right. Satin is the setting most people find they can look at indefinitely. Raw is the most textured and reads as the most technical of the four.
