DescriptionThe whole story▼

Anyone who has shopped for a used enduro bike knows to look at the levers first. A bent or broken lever, or one shorter than it ought to be, says the bike has been down, and a buyer then looks harder at everything else. Small two-strokes like the Sherco SE 125 often change hands as riders move up a class, and most will have fallen at some point. For owners who would rather keep that story short, Accossato makes the C7283 for the SE 125 of 2018 to 2022: a folding clutch lever CNC-machined from Ergal 7075 in Italy, with a long blade for four fingers.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the Sherco SE 125 two-stroke, model years 2018 to 2022
  • Takes the place of the stock lever at the original clutch mount
  • Long blade with room for four fingers
  • Anti-break joint: the blade can fold forward when the bike lands on it
  • Machined from solid Ergal 7075, made in Italy
  • Blade in black, blue, orange or red; dark base
  • No German ABE documented; for off-road use

Construction and Material Quality

There is no casting in the C7283. Accossato mills it in Italy from a solid lump of Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and gives three reasons for doing so: the lever should resist breakage, add little weight and keep working. Its dark base remains on the pivot at the clutch mount, and a blade in black, blue, orange or red is attached to it through a folding joint. Being the clutch lever, it is drawn long, with room for four fingers.

What a Bent Lever Tells a Buyer

Levers are honest witnesses. A clutch lever with a scraped end or a slight bend shows the bike has been dropped on its left, and experienced buyers then check the bar, the footpeg and the gear lever on the same side. None of this has to put you off a used SE 125, but it is worth knowing what you are buying, and worth replacing a damaged lever straight away rather than riding on with one that may crack at the worst moment.

That is where a folding lever makes sense, both for the new owner and for whoever buys the bike next. When the Sherco lands on its left, the C7283 can let its blade hinge forward rather than take the whole blow, so a fall at the practice track has a better chance of leaving the lever straight. It will not come through every crash, but a lever that folds is likely to leave fewer bent parts behind. For a two-stroke 125 that will be ridden hard for several seasons, that counts, and the Sherco SE 125 that eventually goes up for sale will tell a quieter story.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's application list pairs the C7283 with the Sherco SE 125 two-stroke of 2018 to 2022; the folding B8282 brake lever covers the same bike and years. On the clutch side you can pick black, blue, orange or red, on the brake side only black or orange.

Road Approval

The C7283 has no German ABE. It is meant for off-road and competition use and is not approved for public roads, including on an SE 125 that is registered.
