DescriptionThe whole story▼

Built around a 19 mm piston for dual-disc front brakes, this black anodised Ready To Brake master cylinder is Accossato's largest-bore unit in the PRS 17-18-19 mm adjustable-pivot family, aimed at superbikes and big-displacement naked bikes running two front discs. The Shark Design body carries a folding lever available in any of seven colours and in long or short reach, letting the lever match the rest of the bike's finish even though the master cylinder body itself stays black. An integrated micro-switch takes care of the brake light connection.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
  • PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm with no extra tool needed
  • Black anodised aluminium body in Accossato's Shark Design
  • Folding lever available in seven colours, short or long, with (RST) or without (NRST) a lightening eyelet
  • Offset riser with a quick-release jumper that also reduces master cylinder movement
  • Integrated micro-switch for the brake light, built in without adding weight
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

This master cylinder is built on the same Ready To Brake principle as the smaller-bore units in Accossato's range: the Shark Design shaping cuts the passive stroke at every pivot setting without any adjustment from the rider, and that shaping carries through unchanged to this larger 19 mm piston size. The off-set mounting riser includes a quick-release jumper for faster servicing and resists movement of the body during hard braking, while stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals are specified to withstand heat cycling and continuous brake fluid contact. The integrated micro-switch is built into the clamp without a noticeable weight penalty.

Why a 19 mm Piston Suits Dual-Disc Brakes

Accossato specifies the 19 mm piston on this black anodised unit for dual-disc front brake systems, where two callipers need to be fed with enough fluid volume that a smaller single-disc piston would struggle to move efficiently. The PRS pivot distance, adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm, lets the rider set a shorter stroke and sharper bite for track use or a softer, longer pull for road riding, all without changing parts. Because this is the black anodised version, it is also the one offered with a seven-colour lever choice; the nickel-plated sibling keeps the same 19 mm piston and PRS adjustment but supplies the lever only in black.

Fitment and Compatibility

Fifty-four superbikes and big-displacement nakeds from Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki sit in our fitment data for this 19 mm unit, the Ducati Panigale V4, Aprilia RSV4 RF, Kawasaki ZX-10 R, Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and Honda CB1000R being representative entries. All the exact model years live in the Fitment tab on this page, worth checking against your V5 before ordering. A nickel-plated version of the same Ready To Brake body is listed as its own product.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
