DescriptionThe whole story▼
Moto Guzzi's Griso SE carries the Italian maker's transverse V-twin layout into a muscular naked shape, sold from 2007 to 2015 with the 8-valve 1200 engine at its heart. Its filler takes an M20x1.5 thread unlike anything else Accossato machines, and the FP001 fits it, CNC-machined aluminium anodised across eight colours.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Moto Guzzi Griso SE 8V 1200, 2007 to 2015
- Thread M20x1.5, specific to this transverse V-twin
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Eight colours: orange, blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
- No other Accossato cap currently listed for this motorcycle
- No German ABE on file; for competition use
- A distinctive transverse V-twin unlike anything from Japan
- Orange listed first among the available finishes
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the FP001 from aluminium on CNC equipment before anodising supplies one of eight colours, with orange appearing first on the maker's own list, a nod to the shade the Griso is often photographed in. The M20x1.5 thread this cap uses is specific to Moto Guzzi's transverse V-twin layout, a configuration with cylinders poking out either side of the bike rather than tucked in line like most Japanese engines built around a more conventional layout.
A Transverse Twin, an Unmistakable Character
Moto Guzzi's cylinders sitting out in the open air give the Griso a distinctive shake at idle that owners either love or find themselves endlessly explaining to curious onlookers, but none of that affects how the oil should be checked: engine cold, bike level, the window read before the filler is touched. The FP001 then threads back in by hand, snug rather than forced, with a final check underneath once the next ride is done. An unusual engine layout is no excuse for skipping the basics.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FP001 for the Moto Guzzi Griso SE 8V 1200 across 2007 to 2015, the whole of this version's time on sale. No other Accossato cap is currently catalogued for this motorcycle. Because the M20x1.5 thread decides fit rather than the model itself, the FP001 also suits several Aprilia models, including the Caponord 1200 and the Dorsoduro range, bikes with a completely different engine layout entirely all of their own.
Road Approval
No ABE or similar approval paperwork exists for the FP001 in our records, so it is offered for track and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
One FP001 oil filler cap is supplied, anodised in the colour requested.
