DescriptionThe whole story▼
Autumn enduros have a particular atmosphere in their final hours. The light fades early, the woods grow darker, and the last loop is ridden by tired riders on a track that has been cut up all day. On a Husqvarna FE 501, whose big single still pulls strongly when the rider is flagging, the danger lies less in the bike than in the rider's concentration. Precise, economical riding is what gets people home. Accossato builds enlarged Ergal footpegs for the FE 501 of 2017 to 2023, offered in orange or black.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, which took an enduro world title in 1985, describes these pegs briefly: enlarged footpegs, made of Ergal, for motocross, enduro and off-road machines. Ergal is a high-strength aluminium alloy, and the enlarged form gives the boot a broader surface, which counts when the legs are tired and foot placement gets sloppy. The set is a left and right pair, in orange or black for the FE 501 of these years. Beyond that, the maker publishes no data.
The Last Loop in Fading Light
Fatigue shows first in small things. A tired rider sits down when they should stand, grips the bars harder, looks at the front wheel instead of the trail ahead and misses the peg when putting a foot back up after a turn. On the FE 501, whose engine is strong enough to cover many mistakes, it is easy to keep riding a gear too high and too fast for the conditions. Riders who finish well in the dark hours tend to be those who recognise the signs and adapt, with a smoother line and a little less speed.
Preparation helps: eat and drink during the day, keep clean goggles or a fresh lens for the last loop, and make sure the headlight of the FE 501 is clean, since enduro bikes carry lights for good reason. On the bike, a firm, relaxed stance with the feet planted takes less energy than a tense one. Broad pegs support that stance and give the boots a clear target when the rider is tired. After the finish, check the pegs, bars and levers as part of the usual look over the bike.
Fitment and Compatibility
The FR798 belongs to the FE 501 of 2017 to 2023 in Accossato's list. For the bikes of 2014 to 2016 there is the FR795, and for 2024 to 2026 the FR809. Please check your FE 501's model year, then compare photos and colours; we will be glad to answer questions before you order. The same pair is also listed with us for the GasGas MC 250F, the Husqvarna FC 450 and the Husqvarna FE 350.
Road Approval
For these pegs there is no ABE or other approval in our hands, so we offer them for racing and competition.
