DescriptionThe whole story▼
The name of the Scrambler Sixty2 points back to 1962, the year in which the first Ducati Scrambler went on sale, and the bike itself carried that spirit into a smaller, lighter package with a 400 twin. Many of its owners were new to motorcycling or chose it as an easy-going second bike. A circuit day on a Sixty2 is less about speed than about learning, and it rewards riders who take care over the basics. The FC105 from Accossato is listed for the Scrambler Sixty2 of 2016 to 2020, a quick-release cap milled from aluminium whose pawl carries a pin in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Ducati Scrambler Sixty2, 2016 to 2020
- CNC-machined aluminium throughout
- Quick-closing pawl for fast opening and closing
- Six pin colours to choose from
- Pawl available separately if damaged
- Check the application list before ordering
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato mills the FC105 from aluminium on CNC machines, completely, and considers it robust and durable; its shape is a fresh design. With its quick-closing pawl, the tank of the Scrambler Sixty2 opens and shuts quickly, and the pawl's pin is where you choose a colour. Should the pawl be bent or broken, Accossato sells it on its own.
Two Stories from the Sixties
The Scrambler story began in 1962, and a few years later, in 1969, Accossato was founded in Moncalieri, on the edge of Turin. Both belong to a decade in which Italian motorcycling was changing quickly, and both names are still around. The Sixty2 carries that history lightly, and a circuit day on it can be approached in the same spirit: no pressure, plenty of time, the basics done well. Fuel is one of those basics. Riding on a track uses more fuel than riding on the road, so check the level at every break instead of waiting for the warning light. Refuel with the engine off and the bike upright, through a funnel, and close the pawl firmly before checking it by hand. Wipe up any drops at once, both for the sake of the paint and because fuel near a warm engine is never a good idea. The rest of the day can then be spent on what matters: lines, braking points and a growing feel for how the Scrambler Sixty2 behaves.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list shows the Sixty2 with the FC105 for every year from 2016 to 2020. We also carry the cap for the Scrambler 1100 and the DesertX, but only the application list tells you whether it suits your own bike, so check it before you order. Fitting is a job for a cold engine, ideally first thing in the morning: seat the seal evenly and look at the filler again once the first fuel is in.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no documented expert report exist for the FC105, so it is a track part. The Sixty2's factory cap normally locks with the ignition key and remains the cap for public roads; a swap there is not simply a matter of choice.
