DescriptionThe whole story▼

The KTM 1290 Super Duke R is a bike that invites hard riding on good roads, and many owners of the 2014 to 2022 models also try it on a circuit. For those who combine fast road riding with hobby track days, Accossato offers the AGPA106 front pad in EV1 street/track. The maker says it gives excellent grip on the street and in amateur track use, so it sits between everyday compounds and pure racing mixtures.

Key Features

  • EV1 street/track front pads, AGPA106EV1
  • KTM 1290 Super Duke R, 2014 to 2022, plus the R Black of 2020
  • Accossato: excellent grip for road riding and amateur track use
  • Firm bite for hard road riding
  • Suits hobby track days
  • Two front calipers, two boxes
  • No ABE; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato positions EV1 as a mixture for both road and amateur circuit use, with excellent grip in each setting. On a Super Duke R, that gives the front brake a firm, direct initial bite for hard braking before corners. The friction material is bonded to the AGPA106 plate. Like all Accossato pads, it is designed to limit heat build-up and resist fade.

Hard Road Riding and Hobby Track Days

The Super Duke R has plenty of power, and the front brake has to match it. On a fast road ride, EV1 gives a clear, firm initial response that lets the rider brake late and precisely. On a hobby track day, it offers enough grip for amateur lap times while still working on the ride to and from the circuit.

Before a track day, fit the pads in advance and bed them in on the road. Renew the fluid, check both discs for oil or grime, and inspect the pads between sessions. Riders who later race may look at EV2 or ZXC, but for most owners who ride hard on the road and visit a circuit a few times a year, EV1 is the natural fit.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPA106 for the front of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, 2014 to 2022, as well as the R Black of 2020. Two front calipers require two boxes. At the rear, the AGPA42 is listed for the same years.

Road Approval

We do not have an ABE for this EV1 pad, so it is supplied for track use.

Scope of Delivery

One box, two AGPA106 EV1 pads, for a single front caliper.
