DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sit on a Monster 1200 and the view is mostly handlebar: a wide bar, the instruments in the middle and a small fluid reservoir at each end, the front brake on the right and the hydraulic clutch on the left. These two reservoirs frame the cockpit, and once one of them changes, the eye soon asks for the other. On the clutch side, Accossato's FP007 can take over: a machined aluminium cover for the master cylinder reservoir, listed for the Monster 1200 from 2014 to 2020 and offered in six anodised colours.
Key Features
- Clutch master cylinder cover for the Ducati Monster 1200, 2014 to 2020
- For the original clutch master cylinder
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Six colours: gold, red, blue, silver, black, orange
- Pairs with the TS003 front reservoir cap on the other side of the bar
- FP004 oil cap and TS012 rear cap also listed for this bike
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Gold, red, blue, silver, black or orange: those are the six colours in which the FP007 leaves Accossato, machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and then anodised. The cover is made to suit the stock clutch master cylinder of each listed model, so on the Monster 1200 only the lid changes and the hydraulic clutch itself is left alone. Before closing the reservoir with the new part, check the original seal or diaphragm; if it is brittle or out of shape, a new one belongs in there.
A Matching Pair on the Handlebar
Accossato also makes the TS003 for the front brake reservoir of the Monster 1200, so both ends of the bar can carry the same colour. Six colours are common to the two parts, because the clutch cover is not offered in green: red, gold, blue, orange, silver and black work for both. If you fit them on the same afternoon, do one side at a time and give each the same care. Turn the handlebar until the reservoir you are working on sits level, cover the tank and the instruments with a thick cloth, and open the reservoir only briefly, because the fluid in both systems is hygroscopic. Should a drop land on paint, wash it off with water immediately. While the reservoir is open, check that the level lies between the marks. Tighten each cover gently. Then, with the engine off, pull the clutch lever and the brake lever several times; both should feel exactly as before, and only when they do is the job finished.
Fitment and Compatibility
The application list gives the FP007 for the Monster 1200 from 2014 to 2020, on the clutch master cylinder the bike left the factory with. At Inter-Pace the same cover is also listed for the Monster 1200 R, the Multistrada 1260 and the Aprilia Caponord 1200. Besides the TS003, Accossato offers the FP004 oil filler cap and the TS012 rear reservoir cap for the Monster 1200. Please check the list against your bike before ordering, particularly if the clutch master cylinder has been replaced at some point.
Road Approval
The FP007 has no ABE or other test document in our files; we therefore offer it as a part for racing and competition.
