Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 / Factory (2021–2026) PM01S

The 2021 revision brought the Tuono to Euro 5, and emissions work always tightens both ends of an engine. That has a consequence worth naming: the closer a manufacturer has had to run to a regulatory limit, the less slack remains for a service part that has quietly loaded up over an interval. The Sprint Filter P08 PM01S does not try to give the engine more than Aprilia intended — it holds the intake at the restriction Aprilia designed for, with roughly double the filtering surface so that it stays there.

Holding the baseline, honestly

A drop-in filter will not add meaningful peak power to a standard Tuono V4, and anything promising that from an element in the standard airbox is overselling. What it prevents is the slow drift: as a paper filter loads, the pressure drop climbs, the engine management meters fuel to the reduced airflow, and the bike becomes gradually less urgent without anything appearing to be wrong. Nothing on the dash reports it. Starting lower and staying there is the whole benefit, and on a bike this highly tuned it is worth more than a claimed figure.

Electronics that depend on knowing the airflow

The current Tuono runs a full rider-aids package built on an accurate picture of how much air is entering the engine. That is the argument against an oiled cotton filter, which works by making dust stick to a tacky film that migrates downstream when the airbox runs hot. A dry element removes the mechanism entirely rather than reducing the odds.

Care and cleaning

Blow it through from the clean side with compressed air, working outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry.
