DescriptionThe whole story▼

Shoei's engineering philosophy has always placed precise fit at the heart of helmet design, and the Padding Set Hard L (XPRO) Type-P is the clearest expression of that commitment. Engineered exclusively for the X-SPR Pro in size L, these firm-density foam inlays slot into the dedicated pockets of the crown pad modules to deliver a noticeably more controlled, stable fit — no tools, no compromise.
Key Features
- Hard-density moulded foam inlays for more pronounced fit corrections than the Soft variant
- Designed for the XPRO Type-P pad system specific to the Shoei X-SPR Pro
- Tool-free installation — simply place into the existing pockets on the reverse of the crown pad modules
- Adjusts fit in length, width and height for a truly tailored interior volume
- Modular design: mix, reposition or combine with other pads to dial in your exact pressure distribution
- Full Set Hard is the preferred choice where a more significant interior correction is needed; Full Set Soft is available separately for finer adjustments
Design, Finish and Heritage
Shoei has spent decades refining the relationship between a rider's head and the helmet interior. The XPRO pad system is the outcome of that accumulated expertise — a modular tuning platform built into the X-SPR Pro from the ground up rather than retrofitted as an afterthought. The firm foam used in the Hard variant is purpose-moulded to hold its geometry over time, preserving your chosen fit session after session. There are no fabric covers to wrestle with and no adhesives to fail; the geometry of the pad and pocket does the work with quiet, Shoei-level confidence.
Performance on Road and Track
A helmet that shifts during hard braking or a high-speed change of direction is more than a comfort issue — it is a distraction. The Hard-grade inlays resist compression under dynamic load, keeping the shell centred on your head when it matters most. Riders who find their X-SPR Pro sitting slightly too deep, tracking wide at the temples, or lacking vertical support will notice an immediate improvement. The result is a quieter, more planted feel that lets you concentrate entirely on the road or circuit ahead.
